Have any of you guys ever taken apart one of these sissybars?

I'd like to take one apart and send it off to the powdercoater's, and was wondering how much, if any of it could be taken apart, sandblasted and powdercoated again?

I converted one to a tall sissybar , they are real simple to take apart, first you have to pry off the bottom caps with a small screw driver careful not to damage the caps and once this is done, then you have to compress the spring so that the roll pins are exposed, tap those out and the sissy bar will come free once you pry off the top caps and then the top roll pins will appear and it will come apart, When I compressed the shocks the sissy was bolted to the bike, made it a little easier to compress. Just take your time and good luck with your project.
