i have my eye on a '36 Elgin. I'm attaching 2 pics I'm hoping someone can steer me right. Are the bottom bar and seat tube bar correct? Has this been re-welded or is it legit??

I'm gonna say rewelded. While many old frames don't have great welds, this looks a bit to globby to be factory. I've seen frames where this area is barely welded, so this may be more of a loose tube fix than a break. -Adam

Thanks man. It almost to me looks like an intentional braze but sloppy. The bike is outa state so I'm just trying to figure out if I should pass on it
