Another Fla newbie

Been reading a while finally decided to join and post. It is so refreshing compared to most bike forums. I got a newer schwinn I picked out of the trash, painted it black, added some fenders and apehangers. Getting ready to start on an HC Higgins from the 40's for my mother ( her childhood bike) I Will be looking for ideas..... I think I found the right place.
