I needed to build a bike with a childs seat for my 2 year old daughter. I bought a 38 frame and fenders for $75 minus the tank. I then found a 1938 almost complete Elgin which i bought strictly for the tank. I bought the seat, reflector, and horn for it separately and had my cousin pinstripe it. I used some Columbia handlebars and cut 5" plugs to make them longer. It came a little better than I thought it would, for a bike that I just needed to be able to take my daughter for a ride.

Ha!...the gray seat and bike actually look pretty cool together.

Just need to get your cousin to stripe the child seat now.

The bike looks great. The childseat looks quite at home. Can you swap the foam grips that are on it to something more fitting to the bike?just a thought. Also, whatcha doin' with the other Elgin that ya found?Im looking for some parts for my 37,please LMK.Again, bike looks awesome, good job!
