50s era 24" girl's Schwinn

I picked this oldie up from a taxidermist in Illinois. It is in need of a redo for sure. The serial# is B97688, but I get different years of manufacture depending on the resource that I use. It seems to be either 52, 54, or 57. The exact age is not that big an issue, but I was hoping somebody out there might know the model name.

I plan to have the frame, fenders, and chainguard sandblasted before repainting in a similar color scheme.

Does the chainguard design offer any clues to the model?

Is the scroll decal any help?

Bunchobikes seems to be the standard for serial number listings. Can't help you with the model name but that chainguard is awesome! Truss rods too! Nice!

It has to be 53 or before as the crosspiece went away with the 54 models. :wink:
