Howdy folks. Here's a pic of my most recent build. (i still need to snap some pics of my other bikes....i'm lazy i guess)
Anyways... I picked up this '49 straightbar frame. Someone had re-painted part of it with house paint . My initial plan was to just strip it and respray it. However, i used some acetone to clean off the house paint and get down to the original paint. It didn't look too bad...so i decided to leave it as is. I had the Schwinn bars, grips and crank/chainring in my parts box in the garage. The other parts i picked up over the last few months: Messinger seat, Schwinn stem and forks, some cleaned up and re-spoked S-2's, and some Cheng Shin red tires. I was kinda going for the stripped down/bare bones look...no cables, fenders, chainguard, lights, etc...
I think it turned out pretty nice (and it rides smoooooth)...but that's just my biased opinion.
