So I am presently working in Atlanta, went out exploring Sunday and found this at an antique shop in Marietta.

They wanted more than I paid for it, let's just say it got them down to under a hundred on it. It was displayed as a mid 50's chicago built american bike, complete.

Got it back to the hotel I am at, put a new tube in the front tire and it rides really well for a 75 year old.

I think this one is a keeper. It is going to need a lot of work, but that will wait until I get back to Texas.

those coke bottle grips are in excellent shape. the tires are like new, although not original, they are from the late 50's. amazing what keeping a bike in the basement does for preserving it.

I have done a couple things to it. Added the tank from a '54 I bought, it looks right. After riding it a lot, the sidewalls of the tires started to crack a bit, guess to be expected, so I put a set of Duro Beach Bums on it. Just recovered the seat with leather and got a drop stand for it, although the last two are not in photos yet.

I had oiled the new departure coaster, and it works great. All in all this bike is a blast to ride, really fast also.

I found this set of Beach Bum's on craigslist, a bike shop south of Atlanta was clearing out some products and these were brand new, still with the Duro packaging on them, for 20 dollars for the pair. I wasted no time making that drive.
