Very KOOL tandem, indeedy. If you want to lose that front seat...let me know  ! Also notice what appears to be a Torrington art deco gooseneck at the rear position...early Stewart-Warner speedo is always a welcome bonus...congrats...Pappy 8)

I like :D home billt or not but hay I like old station wagons too!
I would find a seat and keep as is

I happen to love old station wagons also i have a 59 edsel wagon heres some more pics of the bike i cant decide if i want to keep it or part it out if i keep it im thinking of building a nice wood stakeside bed that bolts on the back.

Then in the name of the Edsels and all misunderstood modes of transportation you must keep and preserve this fine unit .The only thing I would clean up is the chain guard, if you want to keeper on the cheap offer up the men’s seat for a pair of nice girls seats .I like the wood steak bed idea too. You better keep her. Sometimes things are directed to you for reasons not yet known. I say give it time or at least try to sell her to someone to keep complete. Or part it out. I wish I was close cause once you part it out the frame could be had for cheep!! but I do not think I would want to pay shipping. Anyhow like I said before I like

It's a post war fork, used up to 49

That is a sweet tandem, honestly the first one i've ever seen that I actually like. I'd love to have that rear handlebar stem if you part it. 8)
