26x1 3/4 VS 26x2x1 3/4

Been researching tires for the soon to be here '59 Schwinn Jaguar. It has (I believe) the standard S7 rims. What's up with the odd size 26 x 2 x 1 3/4? Whats with that '2' in there? And do they fit an S7?

Additionally I see some Westwinds out there and a fair amount of Kendas in the S7 size. Are these acceptable?

It all depends on what you like.The Westwinds tend to be spendy, the Kendas tend to be skinny, and the 2. 1 3/4 is wider. They all fit an S-7.Personally, I buy the 26 x 2 1 3/4 tires, they have a nice Balloon tire look and fit perfectly. Niagra Cycle is where I last purchased them, very reasonably priced as well! :wink:
