ok, i got a bit frustrated this morning when i tried to change the 26" tires on my Schwinn. my friend gave me 1 tire (my brick pattern original tires began to loose bricks) so i tried putting it on the rim. would not go on. so i sized the 2 tires up and the og Schwinn is a bit bigger in circumference than the new one. so i go to my other bike with 26" tires and the same problem. what gives?

so what tires (i only need 1) can i put on my original 26" Schwinn spoke rims?

thanks and sorry if this has been covered before.

How old are the wheels?

Most older Schwinn wheels take a specific Schwinn sized tire.

They usually number them like: S-2, S-5, S-6, S-7 etc.

welcome to the wonderful world of schwinn sizes!!! The rim should be stamped or check the old tires to see if it says "to fit S-?"

looks like a s 7 rim to me which would be 26 1 3/4 and you need to make sure you ask for an s7 tire.

yeah the schwinn s7s are kind of a pain.......as stated before only the 26x1 3/4" tires will fit NOT the 26x1.75's.......
kenda makes them for the s7s and theyre cheap but i cant find the link now :x
