I'm looking to build a bike this winter and wanted to know who and what names came in a 24" I found out Schwinn made a a 24" in the Manta Ray but not the Sting Ray.
Any info would be great. Also if you got one for sale let me know. I want to powder coat it royal blue so condition doesn't have t be great.
thanks
Getz

I ride a 5 speed 24" Sears Spyder, the most uncomfortable bike I own.

Mainly bought for the Schreckengost frame.

Both Manta Ray (71/72) and Spyder (68/69?) were quickly discontinued, wonder why.

i had one of these in blue. i got it when i was in my twenties so it rode pretty good for someone who was bigger than the average kid. that memory has me playing with a 24" frame to make something similar to the one i had.

So what makes it so uncomfortable? To narrow a seat pan, not enough padding or legs can't stretch out enough? Or something else?

I'm 6'1" with a 35" inseam. Even with the seat set waaaay back, you can see how small this old Schwinn DX 24" is:
