8) nice finds,i'm really diggin that western flyer ! whats the story ,where'd you find them ?

Found a guy who lives close to a college,he sells ten speeds to these students and does pretty good. They really do not care for the vintage cruisers so I can get them at a VERY good price. The headbadge also says Western Auto . Under crank M O-L 78435 Any ideas on the age ?

Sounds like a good deal to me. Trading some 10 speeds for cool old bikes!!!!

The Western Flyer is Murray built , looks to be about '54 - '55 , Murray serial #'s are tough to date , you need compare w/ catalogs

Rear hub is a Musselman Hub. That is a different one to me.

very cool just picked up a western flyer x-53 it has the same rear hub (muscelman) on it !new too me also,never heard of one before it,,

Musselman also built the finned hubs for Elgins and JC Higgins. -Adam

Murray used Musselman hubs until sometime in late fifties , then went to Komet , I'm trying to figure out when the change was made , to help w/ ID'ing
