I did some digging around and found this pricelist from 61. If yours never had a tank, it's probably a Torpedo or Speedliner. No illustrations. If it was a heavyweight, maybe a Newsboy Special.
Slow day here at work, I found a photo of a Torpedo, saying it's from the 50's. The pics of Speedliners all show a solid red or different frame than yours, so I'm pretty sure you have a Torpedo. The handlebars and seat look wrong in the pic though.
