1960's Schwinn aka Project Chop N Drop

This is my first time posting here.Hi!I started this project about 2 weeks ago.Its almost completed.I may have to do some finishing touches before a paint job.Its ridable and its FUN!I did not chop the original Schwinn frame,Someone I know did.Him and his buddies were just fooling around.He than gave It to me.I basically undid everything he had done to It to make it my own and into my vision i had for it.

Swapped out the neck(previous owner "hammerd" the too big neck into the original forks!And i changed crank system.

Yeah i do have a lot ha ha.When the bigger projects get too hectic to work on,its nice to take a break and work on bicycles.

Those smaller wheels on the first pic really messed with my head. I thought "wow, they re-did a frame to look exactly like a gigantic version of a Schwinn".

I haven't been drinking, I promise.

Ha ha ha that would have been fun..but kinda pointless....

Although i could have just then chop it and made a bigger longer bike!ha ha ah :lol:

Its finished!


I started painting the wheels first.I used tape and went around the whole rim on both sides,then a covered the tire completely with paint paper and more tape so it wouldn't get painted.

I then sprayed the wheel all black,except the side walls of the rims.Which i later sprayed lime green.

While the wheels were drying i sprayed black on teh one side of teh frame and made the forks green.

I put the wheels on so the frame was balanced while i touched up the other side with black.I also sprayed the neck green.

Next was the crank arms.

Than i put new pedals on,touched up some missed spots,put some custom handle bars grips on and let it bake in the sun to dry!

Its done!

Since i was so beat today,i didnt get a chance to make a video of me riding it,but i will make them soon,im gonna have a whole youtube video dedicated to this bike.It may stay like this or it may change.Either way i love cruising with my bum a little over a foot off the ground
