These are great bikes! I have a 48 also, Green & cream. Looks like your fork maybe bent or is it the picture?

This is a nice bike, $40 Is a great deal, so it's time to spring for a Springer to make this baby a little nicer.

KJV - if you end up taking dos cuiser's advice and convert to a springer, I'd be happy to take the truss rods off of your hands. (smiles) For the going rate, that is. My '49 DX needs a pair.
 
$ 40.00 bucks is a steal. You got to love those finds. They are the best. Worth more than a higher paid for bike to me just for the deal you find in it self. Cool Bike.
