Found some comic relief in this funny old photo of some pacer bars. Maybe I need a suit like that with my bars. I'll get it in red leather to match the bike.:crazy::21:

Young Ricky Bobby started learning how to draft at an early age. SHAKE AND BAKE

Got a little color on the fender to test on whether or not I want the street sweeper fenders.

Hung the fender back up to dry. Tightened everything else down and took VerBoten out for a spin to try out the kickback.
Went down to the park and couldn't resist snapping a pic of one of two brides that were there getting ready for their wedding.

I love the kickback. It takes a little getting used to, but it's perfect for flat Savannah.
I did want to give everything a good shakedown too, so I road down one of the cobblestone ramps to River Street. The shroud and skirts didn't budge. The kickback is geared just a little lower than I want in 1st gear, so I think I may change out my front sprocket to a larger Monark ring that I have.

Monark ring should go nicely with the swoopy Paisleyesque styling.

That's what I was thinking, but I didn't put it on because I was afraid the gearing would be too high.

Hey King!
That looks really great! Good to see ya using it! That Pontiac piece was found in the Chehalis river! (Back in the day they use old cars to keep the banks together)

Actually, I decided not to go the route of teh Pontiac trim and double skirts. I'm gonna save that for a future build.

I have been rethinking the red on red color scheme. With the red wheels, it might be too much to have both the frame and fenders red too.
Here is a rough computer mock up I did last night with a creme/red scheme. What do you think?

The creme color that I am thinking of is the ivory metallic pearl from Rustoleum (Pearl Mist)
EDIT: On second thought, see comments below.

The cream and red has my vote

Cream and red here too

A nice creamy ivory would be more period correct, less bling-y, but more 'correct'. If it wasn't such an iconic, unique vintage frame, I'd be onboard with metallic pearl. Just my .02

Thanks for the feedback guys. Tank, you must have heard one of convos with another RRBer earlier today. I was thinking the same thing. A richer cream for the frame, satin red on the fenders, and let the wheels keep the candy.

I like it but the rear sharkfin lower fender I would paint the ribbed parts red with the cream background, breaks it up from being a big slab of white!

That would my plan, I just didn't want to draw 12 or so crooked red lines on the computer mock drawing. :D
