Good Temps for curing paint for sure.

I have been waiting until the evening when it drops to 35'c to paint. I have a cycle tour tomorrow in this heat. At least it will top at 35ish tomorrow with wind... So humid right now with grey skies from the fires.

Played with the pipe bender today, to get a nice shape on the arm

Varnish is on and design.

After work tomorrow it is putting it all back together.
Hopefully it will be easy peasy.

Part 2 of butterball is completed.
Used a old bit of aluminium sheet that was off my old Pajero. Shaped it for a bench.

Rack is on.

And a old plate mounted.

Started putting the bike together today. I have ordered a new short derailleur, so will take a few days to arrive. I thought I had one. The long one scrapes the rim. I will set it up as a single speed to finish it for the build off.

Made some shims today. My bars are 22.2 mm and my stem is 36 something. So 3 of them later.

I also need to go look for the bearing set. I thought I had that ready. guessing I will tax that from another bike.
I had 2 of these plastic lids.
Perfect for side panels.

Plans are soldering and cutting stem down a little tomorrow and figure the front end and brakes.
I will be just sliding in on this build.

Yeah, the combination is rat old skool. I have also ways wanted a hotrod style. Might be a bit too much here, for this island.

Yes horrific what is going on with the fires here. Every year with the loss of lives. And all because of stupid people, wanting to cause chaos.

Last tough few days, but finished.
I don't like the bars so much, and I want a specific type of bar, but they are not in stock anywhere.
But I did get the size of the bars I want, and they came up short. So next week, I will weld my own up.
The style I am after, I will make the handles longer and also the length.

Part 2 Butterball and how the name sort of came about.

The fiberglass carrier, was designed for the back of these 3 wheel scooters for delivery. This was found by a bin, and was stored for 15years.
I just passed one yesterday still in action.

The trailer is very light, but with my camping stuff inside,it will roll like a dream.
The idea of the rack on top, was to place my boogie board, or a folding solar panel for a generator.
Means I can go anywhere,set up and charge the batteries either rolling or camped. And have a cuppa or coldy at the same time. The small bench in front, perfect for anything to sit on.

Now for the rest of the bike complete.
