    Olmo Competition road bike

I am interested in selling it or trading for something. I would like a cool old springer fork. Do you have to have a certain amount of posts to list something for sale? Other forums I belong to require so many posts before you are allowed to sell something.

    Olmo Competition road bike

I was in total shock from all the stuff he gave me. I spent two days organizing. Forks, frames, bars, complete gruppos, wheels, tires...He is 69 years old and has been riding all his life, so you can imagine the stuff he saved. He looks mid-fifties, still in great shape. He still works every day...

    Olmo Competition road bike

I ran into an old friend I knew when I worked at the bike shop. We got to talking and he is not riding bicycles any more. He offered to give me all of his old road bike parts and stuff. I ended up with an entire truckload full including frames, forks, cranks, bars, complete groups, and more. He...

    Swing Bike

I ended up welding a piece of square tube to the seatpost and drilling a hole for the seat. I put a banana seat on it. The seat sat way too far back otherwise. I will post a pic tonight. Its pretty close to the original setup.

    Swing Bike bones

Thank you for the photos. I finished it up this morning with a spring from the hardware store. It is too light of a spring for sure. I will probably buy a complete set of springs I saw on Ebay. Check it out here. viewtopic.php?f=21&t=62771

    Swing Bike

I got it all together. I bought a spring from the hardware store. It is way too light of a spring. I might buy complete set of springs that I saw on Ebay. Still gotta figure out a locking device for the two halves. I am gonna put a banana seat on it, but I need a sissy bar. It is fun to ride for...

    Swing Bike

I have wanted one since I was probably 8 years old. My neighbor had one and I rode it all the time. I can't wait to get it in riding form. Just need another headset and a sissy bar. I have enough parts to at least put it together and ride it for now.

I started a thread in the builds section and added some more pics. I hope other members will give me direction and ideas for this bike. I am a new member and have seen some great stuff on here. viewtopic.php?f=21&t=62771

If you could post a closeup pic of the two into one hookups for the springs and the frame lock thing it would be much appreciated.

    Swing Bike

I made a seatpost tonight. I bought a piece of 3/4" steel tubing and cut a slot and coned out the bottom where the wedge goes. Gotta figure out a shim for the seat guts. I found a headset out of a department store bike for now.

    Swing Bike

I traded some parts to a friend for these mismatched Swing Bike sections. It is in rough shape. The head tubes are ovalized and the seat post was rusted real bad. I cut it flush with the top of the seat tube and cut it in two places and chiseled it out.

    Swing Bike bones

I traded some parts for these bones of a Swing Bike. It is in rough shape, the head tubes are both ovalized and there are a couple cracks in the rear section. The forks are not original, but he has a complete bike and these look really close. I only have one spring and the seat tube is rusted in...

The Hawthorne gets ridden the most out of all of them. It is just a practical bike. Plenty of room in the baskets and I don't care if it gets scratched! My wife and I always ride the bicycles if we're going somewhere we might have too many beers. Those rear baskets will hold a 30 pack on each side!

Thanks everyone for the positive responses. I didn't realize how valuable a couple of my bikes were until I lurked around on this forum. I didn't realize the Dyno Roadster was that valuable. I never really realized that I was a hoarder/collector til I dragged all my bikes out and took photos to...

Was a bicycle mechanic for many years and we refurbished old bikes during the Christmas season for the Salvation Army. We junked alot of the donated bikes. I would snag some cool parts here and there. This seat has big numbers "747" and a large reflector on the back. Cool seat. I kinda ruined it...

    Deluxe Speed Cruiser?

I have had this frame for many years and will someday make something out of it. I have the rear fender for it also. I can't find a serial number and it has no headbadge. Any information you guys can give would be great.
