Mine does not have a number. I wasn’t that lucky. There is a long YouTube tutorial on this. Some of the locks have the number stamped on the inside. I need to order a lock picking set.

That bolt idea is genius! Don’t give up on those chain stays. Personally I think they need to be corrected. Even if you use the string method to get the bike to track straight it would drive me nuts having them that far out of symmetry. I am confident you can figure out some sort of jig...

I recently saw someone dimpling chain stays using a BMX headset as a tool. The four bolts allow you to really crank down. Might be worth looking into.

I use evapo-rust. It is likely very similar to metal rescue. It works much faster if you can heat it up. I have a heated Ultrasonic. I usually put small parts into a peanut butter jar with evapo-rust and float it in the hot water in the ultrasonic. That does look like a Raleigh fork...

I think those rear dropouts will work well with an internally geared hub. They should allow you to move the wheel back and forth to get the right chain tension. Usually there is a special washer to prevent the axle from spinning in the dropouts. You might have to get creative there. I...
