I saw someone's tag line..."friends don't let friends ride mountain bikes..." I am curious to see what people have done with mountain bike frames... I picked up a '90's Specialized Rockhopper from the Goodwill for $6.00 ...still searching for inspiration.

... looks like a stayer sprocket. That thing is awesome indeed. I'd like to see the tow rig... or the 45 tooth rear sprocket... However it works, this will be bad@$$

Thanks everyone... it kinda hurt giving this one away. I needed to make space anyhow... and afterall I did build it as a gift... throughout the process though, I was hoping that the "gift" would be rejected and I would get to hang on to it

LTJ- It rides like I remember bmx bikes riding when I was a kid. I am 6'5" (198cm), so even as a kid bmx bikes were too small. This is like that, but more in line with my current dimentions... All in all it's a blast! Thanks everyone else for the feedback

... Yeah good call. 26" frame and 700c wheels with35mm tires. I forgot that I switched to the larger wheels to limit negative space in the aesthetic.

This is a bike I built for my father-in-law for Christmas... Just now getting around to posting my winter builds. This one started life as a varsity cruiser. I built the wheels with some aluminum hoops, put a twin sprocket crank set up front... Couldn't get the derailleur to work well enough...
