    Biggest straight-bar frame

Thanks for the reply! I should've been slightly more specific in my question though. What is the name of a frame that I should hunt down for such a project? I've seen the Schwinn Hornet, Tornado, some Typhoons ect.. just wondering if anyone knows which model produces the best size and lines.

    Biggest straight-bar frame

Just finished building up my King Size American and I'm ready to move on to the next project-- a board track build. After riding my King Size frame for a while now, I don't think I'll want to downsize. I'm 5.9' and find the KS to be a pretty comfortable fit. I'm wondering a couple things...

Built for a King.. Size (done)

Hey everyone, just finished my first ever build. Here's the final product. I don't know if I'll keep the seat, as much as I like riding this it's a bit uncomfortable.

Built for a King.. Size (done)

Re: Built for a King.. Size It's with a small amount of embarassment that I'm able to answer your question twice: The forks aren't painted yet but will be; I have to weld some cracks where the bottom of the head tube meets the crown.

Built for a King.. Size (done)

Re: Built for a King.. Size Thanks! I just spent a good amount of time finding/ordering some tires (white walls) to fit these S-7 wheels. Can't wait!

Built for a King.. Size (done)

Hey everyone, I'm nearly finished wrapping up my Schwinn American King Size rat/rebuild. Just need to get some tires and mount this old Miller generator. This was my first build and I learned a LOT both from experience and the very helpful members of this forum, thanks to all. Before any work...

To weld or not to weld?

I was thinking to leave it alone as well. I figure with its' rust and being parted, the true rats/restorers will jump at it.

To weld or not to weld?

Hey everyone, I'm parting out an Schwinn/Excelsior built Panther and one of the rods on the front springer is cracked. It should probably be welded to prevent future failure. I'm wondering; should I cancel my eBay auction, mig/wire feed weld the crack and put it back up? Or is there a higher...

    Bike Gurus, Assemble!

Thanks for the insight! I would've kicked myself for chopping without realizing what I was getting into! I think I'll go the route of parting it out, for that matter. Any bids on parts? PM me.

    Bike Gurus, Assemble!

Right on, I think I'm going to attempt welding my king size steer tube to the springer and use it on my American and part the rest.

    Bike Gurus, Assemble!

While waiting for the gurus, I found a clue!.. Well actually I found a dead match. It's a Panther and I'm almost positive its the exact same one as pictured. The only thing that I can tell right now that doesn't match up is that "brace" between the frame posts.

    Bike Gurus, Assemble!

Thanks for assembling. Yesterday I picked up a bike that I don't know anything about and cant find any information on. It's a Schwinn Excelsior, the head tube emblem reads "Schwinn Excelsior Built". I'm not sure what this bike is supposed to have or not supposed to have, for that matter...

    Would you buy this?

Aloha! A rusty (female frame) beaut came up on my CL. I've been lookin' for a springer for my King Size American (Schwinn) project. I only need the springer forks and would probably part out the remainder. I called the guy and asked what model it was be he hadn't a clue! I can get this for...
