I broke the arm off a Ndebele nose tweezer, work it under the grip; squirt WD-40 under the grip, wiggle the tweezer arm around, do that several times, then give it a good wiggle and twist session. Slides off usually.

I use baby oil. Saturate a paper towel or rag, wrap around the frame, come back in a few hours to check it.

Metal sawhorses, and a thick sheet of marine plywood bolted onto the top works well for the maintenance guys where I work, and it's portable.

Local bike shop sells them near me. Look like they're made of chrome chain link.
