I was wandering around Wallyworld and they had one of these Huffy bikes on display.
Its got some wide rims, like maybe close to 2'' and some killer tires. 26x 2.35. I was going
to ask them if they ever had any messed up ones that they sell cheap , but the manager
wasn't there today. I know the bikes are probably junk because several of the people said
the rack broke and they had problems, but I would sure like to have a set of those rims and tires.

Yes those Huffy frames with the welded on racks are known to brake at the welds. :(

Are the rims any good at all? I see the mens and womens with a 3spd nexus for $200 and wonder if it would be worth it, a wheel set new on ebay isnt much cheaper pricing wise.

They use to sell a Next with a 3 speed nexus for $119 with tax. Everybody was buying them
and taking the wheels off and selling the wheels for $150 on Ebay. The frames were aluminum and
the parts were decent. I bought one. Still have the wheelset. I was thinking of taking one and
using the wheel and selling the rest with another set of wheels and tires.

I think that bike has the same frame as the Panama Jack.My friend bought one of those and its very small compared to my Schwinn Cruisers.

i cant get peatbogs link to work, but anyway, arent the la jolla tires the same? single speed, but i thought they were wide. been awhile since i saw one, all i know for sure is they have orange wheels. i dont think i ever saw an internal hub at my local wallmart. as big as this site is, surely we have a member that works at wallmart and could confirm our questions?

I had hoped they had a messed up one I could buy. I would stretch it. If the welds were bad
I could fix them while I was stretching it. I will run down there tomorrow and see what they have
if anything. Might be a fun project.
I looked at a la jolla but the tires on the one I saw were regular but painted copper. Looked good
but not worth the time without the wide rims and bigger tires.

That is the first time I heard the racks have broken off, must be people purposefully doing it to make them look bad or acting like idiots by slamming them to the ground.

We've talked about those before, better price, but the other problem is still that all the cool parts say "Huffy" in a way that's difficult to remove. Embossed in the grips, chain guard and rack, and embroidered into the seat. If it weren't for that, I'd probably have one by now.

Yeah those reviews are always kinda messed up. I don't care what you read. Half say its a really
good product and the others say they are terrible. I think its people selling another brand trying
to keep you from buying that product.

You can buy messed up bikes from Wal-Mart? How much do they mark them down? :D

They get beat up from being on the floor. Depending on the store manager you can probably save a lot. The store by me keeps a lot of bikes out in the garden center so they get rained on.

I bought an unused one off Craigslist after work. The wheels are 1.6 in (41mm) wide and the front has a large hub. The spokes are 12g plated steel. The front wheel is very true, the rear needs a very slight adjustment. The bike is way too small for me. I'd have to jack the seat up a foot or more just to pedal it and my feet would be hitting the front tire in turns. I'm going to put the wheels on my stretch cruiser with my Bontrager whitewalls. The cream tires look nifty as they're fat and square but I already have cream Fat Franks on my other bike.

Here are some pictures of my bike with the lusso wheels on it. The tires are Bontrager Solano 2.35 tires. I didn't really care for the caramel color of the wheels with the cream tires but I think they look nice with the whitewalls.

I didn't take any pictures of the Huffy last night before I took the wheels off but here's what it looks like with the wheels and tires I had on my stretch. I'm sure I can sell it and recoup the money I spent.

Your stretch looks good with the tires on it. There is a guy on cl that has one kinda dirty
and he wants $100. I would like to have the wheels and tires ,but being a 1 speed they sell
them new for $130 new and I already have a set of wide rims. I would pick one up if I really find a deal.
If the tires are $25 plus ship then with the wide wheels the bike is a pretty good deal.

I paid $100 for the one I got and he said he only rode it down the street once and it looked like it. Another guy posted one last night for $250! I probably paid more than I needed to but it worked out well.

I saw several other Craigslist ads in other areas from $50-100. They seem to be plentiful. There seems to be a few of the Huffys that use those rims. If they have the 2.35 tires, they have the wide wheels.

I'm going to watch. I would probably stretch the frame for something to do.
May run up on one a little cheaper. ya never know.
