Flying Zombie
~:Undead Forever:~
Hey Fellas!
I made a pretty decent pick-up recently for a Zenith Badged Prewar, however WITH that one, came a pretty neat 20" 50's Schwinn wearing a Monark Deluxe guard a GEM of a Prewar 20" Skiptooth that I have almost absolute certainty is a Cleveland Welding, according to not only Daniel Pierson but Jerry Peters as well.
Due to the overall shape, the rear fender braces being straight, dropout style, adjusters and headset., CWC was the concensus between them as well as my own research matching the Serial Number font to prior Cleveland's of my own and ones I'd seen on TheCabe serial number project.
This Skiptooth Bicycle has:
-A MATCHED set of "Silent Safety" tires made by General Rubber (20x2.125)
-Rear facing dropouts
-Chain adjusters, a full headset with complete bearing count based on the fullness of details
-New Departure Model D in the Back & New Departure Model W in Front.
-Full Springer Saddle
-Flat Forks
-Very flexible and complete Skiptooth chain that fits it Perfectly with six or seven master links throughout
-Neat Stem
-Straight Bars
I've included some Before and During cleanup here below. The After pics will still be a few days yet. It was pretty caked on..
Shame about the repaint and missing screwed on badge, but the frame is Brazed and it's peeking through
SERIAL #G98457
Hub Before
Hub during cleaning
Oil spout still has it's spring cap!
Headset
SN #G98457
