Don't call it a comeback.......

The pedals have arrived.

Yes I have started....
The original stem was to thin and could not screw on the nuts etc.
So first was to remake a stem that the bearings will fit nice and snug.

Used a old fork from a kids 20". Screwed it down and centered before welding the base.

Also printed out a life size print of what I hope to accomplish.

Still a whole lot of work.

Love the Greek Key pedals.
Glad you're finding some time now.
GET TA BUILDIN!

That is ambitious! RaT oN!
Certainly is. Why is it I always have to go the hard way....
It will be another replica of sorts.

I made the time, will be poor but at least building and happy.

I never looked at the pedals as a Greek design, but now that you have mentioned it?
Even better.

That life size printout? Pretty sure I recognize what it is. You building a replica of a Moto Guzzi Motolegerra?
Love those dinky little 65cc 'Guzzi's. Been trying to track one down for years. Got a lead on one in Spain (many were

Spanish built under license) that I'll follow up when we move there in a couple of week's time.

Yep you got it a lil Guzzino, you can find many up for grabs on ebay IT. After all they are Italian...Cheapest around 2,500 up to about 4,000. They run on 28" rims, but mine will be on 26".

Such a cool inspiration for a Build Off project. Hope you pull it off. I'll follow along with interest.
As a dyed-in-the-wool 'Guzzista', my last 'Guzzi was a LeMans 1000cc which ended up donating it's V-twin motor and rear wheel/suspension to a replica Morgan 3 Wheeler I built. Now I'm pining for a 'Guzzi from the opposite end of the spectrum - a tichy 65cc Motolegerra (affectionately called Guzzino's). The old fella who used to run the local motorcycle shop in Castalla where we're moving to in Spain has his old Guzzino stashed in the workshop his son now runs. Hoping to make him an offer he can't refuse...

Sometimes the small give you more pleasure then the larger ones... I might end up investing in one myself... Should be not so hard to have it transported from Italy to here...

Today I finished off the stem, primed and first coat.

I also decide to try my luck with fiberglassing. Never done it before and as it was getting late, like normal I do everything in a whirl wind... Dragged out the old higgins wheel guards, banged out a few dimples here n there, wrapped a bit of foil on them and off I mixed and cut and layed...
I did 4-5 layers of the fine and then one layer of the woven...

Half way into it I had to move inside onto the dining table... Certainly need to put a light outside in the workshop area.

I still remember seeing one of those little Guzzis in Italy. I used to have a picture of one somewhere parked at a cliff overlooking the ocean . . . I think that was in Capri, but I might be remembering that wrong. Beautiful and fun looking little bike. Great inspiration!

Ahhhh I can see clearly now... I was having issues , seeing massive black squares on this page. looks like I have fixed it...Trying to catch up on everyones builds was a very slow process...

Good to see some action on this. Always enjoy your builds and especially your wit.

Been having problems with the black squares while scrolling here too.
