After I came inside I have been searching around for inspiration and I am really digging this idea, but I think with silver stripes rather than white.

Here are a couple of pics of the Rally Sport

So I will probably lay down a metallic silver base on the whole bike. Then either Metalcast Orange, or more likely VHT Burnt Copper Engine Metallic. I've used Metalcast before, but @Dr. Tankenstein turned me onto the VHT. He used it on his adult Huffy Rail 7 a few years back. I am leaning towards the heavier duty VHT for this build.

This should also go well with Coppertone 68 Ramshorn Fastback that I won.

Picked up a can of the VHT Burnt Copper Engine Metallic paint after work. I was able to lay a coat down on the testbed fender just before dark. I am very excited about this paint. It looks better than this dark photo.

That's closer to the color I wanted but wanted orange ish. Need to get me one of those spray can handle things. It's gonna look good.
Good eye on the spray can handle thing. I missed that. KF, tell us about it, brand, does it work well, durable, precise, etc?

That's the paint I faded the basecoats with when I shot the College Dropout. Over the top, I used Rothflake yellow/gold flake to liven it up.

I remember that wicked build and paint job very well.
I doubt I'll go the flake route for this build though.

Been using these for years. They are usually only 2 or 3 bucks. Not sure what "brand" mine is, but yest they are durable, easy to snap on (just make sure your paint is aimed straight before you pull the trigger. I think it gives you a little better control. It definitely keeps your finger tips cleaner :D . It gives you a more consistent press on the sprayer which in turn can translate into a more consistent delivery of paint. I haven't sprayed anything without one in over 6 years I bet.

Went for a 2 hour ride with a heat index of 108 degrees! This is the first ride with the rack installed and also for the chainguard. This is a solid, smooth, and quiet ride. I couldn't be happier.

I'll post more pics later, but I need to cool down.
