Smoking brake

coming down a big ol hill after riding some dh today, was giving someone (a very trusting friend) a lift down the hill

got the brakes on trying to slow 20+stone down on cable operated discs :?

my friend on another bike starts yelling about a fire so i ignored him

go to the bottom, blued rotor and a burning smell :shock:

apparently i had smoke and everything

i know it wernt a good idea but it was fun

I've had a bit of steam coming out of my hydraulic disk brakes on a rainy day but never smoke

now i know on that side of the world, "mate" refers to a friend,budy,amigo.
but on this side of the planet it refers more to a partner,lover,significant other.
ya gotta be careful what ya say on an international form.

a budy of mine (from scotland) lost his smokes on a rollercoaster at a local amusement park. later in the day he was having a bit of a nic fit. he raised more than a few eye brows when he walked into the mens bathroom saying "dude i'm havin a fit, i really need to bum a ..." (mooch a smoke). i laughed.

ya could always repeat this little down hill experiment for the purpose of video.
perhaps this time around your buddy should also be wearing a brain bucket.
