Yard sale -1953 Schwinn Meteor.

On the way to yard sales Saturday morning my wife tells me No More Bicycles!

Well, first one we stop at has a couple old bikes but I don't pay much attention to them knowing better. Then she sees this Schwinn and wants it for herself! They wanted $30, I offered $25 and they agreed. I have a great wife!

Aired up the tires when we got home and took it for a ride. Needs a tune up and cleaning,but otherwise is rides good!

Looks like a nice bike. Don't like how a wife can change the rules at will and you were trying to be good. Looks like someone had a basket on it and wiped out the headbadge.

That's the stem they used on girls bikes during that time. There's only one bolt. The stem bolt also binds the bars. Pretty wimpy setup but good enough for 1950 girls. :roll: Gary

Nice catch! I wish I could find good deals like that in garage sales. So far just overprices junk for most of it. NIce nice.
