Worship at the Rat Rod alter

If there ever was a religion created around Rat Rods, these two would be at the alter:

From the Shifters Car Club in So. Cal. The one on the left is Purple People Eater, and looks like an Ed "big Daddy" Roth T-shirt coming alive. The other is the Bubble Top Kustom which looks like a Roth inspired design.

Any of you Cali Rats seen these in person??

I love bubble-tops. It's one of those things that just so silly that it can't help but be cool.
Sorta like Peewee Herman or Mr. Bean.

the people eater's moon tank is functional, the guy says he can only go like 5 miles to a tank but he uses it to get groceries and runs outta fuel constantly
also he drives it to drive thru food joints cause he thinks its funny cuz you cant hear a .... thing over the ungodly noise it makes

The bubble top is known as "the brown neck bandito" and the top has been cut since that shot, too hot inside apparently.

I think the guys that built those would knock you into the middle of next week if you called their cars "rat rods" :shock:

There are articles about the Purple People Eater and the origins of the parts that make it up, and it is pretty much a "historic" build...
