I'm thinking about using a front fender from an old touring style bike as a bobbed fender for my BO klunker. Only problem is that its for a narrower tire. I could use it as is if I give it some clearance but I'd really like to be able to run it close to the tire. Anyone know any tricks to widen them?

Here is something I did that was easy.
cut down center of fender

cut a one inch strip of metal (make what ever width you want)

spot welded it then some bondo

sorry this is the only final photo I have.

Check out how herr_rudolf did it on his Single Speed Hotrod. No welding

Like both ideas but since i can't weld the first one is out. I chose the fender because it has a cool peaked crown on one end so I can't really cut it without messing it up. I might just try turning it upside down putting a bowling ball on it and pressing down really hard while rolling the ball and seeing if that does something.
