When was this monark made?

Just curious. I doubt this bike is worth much. It's my fiancée's main mode of transportation but we're curious to see when it was made.

The front wheel is currently a Schwinn one since the original's hub cracked.

Gonna venture a guess. Early 50's

That's what I was thinking. I do not think its a deluxe cruiser though. There's no signs of a tank ever being mounted. I think the racks are original to the bike.

Probably 55-58, if there's no ID tag on the BB. Huffy bought Monark in late 57, and later bikes slowly became all Huffy. -Adam

The set of wheels I bought for it came in today. While I was installing them. I noticed this!


So when was it made guys?

I can't decipher monark numbers, but the fact that the tag is still there is surprising.

The bike was in amazingly original condition before my mom got her hands on it. Seriously it was only missing a seat and we got it for 99 cents at a good will. My mother was letting it rot. My fiancee was needing a bike so I liberated it from the bike pile and gave it to my fiancee. My mother has finally forgiven me for it.
