I joined about 100 others for Bike Night on my '19 Arch Frame Mead last night. The theme was "Disco" as demonstrated by my friend trying to give away the last of her baked goods.🤓

I rook some time after appointments yesterday to try out a new pump track in Firestone! (The first phase of the new bike park being built.)It felt great to get back on the dirt jumper after a couple of weeks off to recover from my car accident.

I took my Elgin motobike to the concert downtown later in the evening for some vibration therapy from a couple of local bands.

I didn't take a pic of my bike but had a great time with friends enjoying some good music, food & hand crafted beverages!

My Trek 950 cruiser build at Roskilde Festival. Biking is so much easier and faster than walking between my camp in the swamp, and the closed volunteer camping area with the clean, free showers. And with a speaker on the handlebar I can listen to Snoop Dogg on the way 😎

Was out tonight with the Wolverine putting down some (slow) kilometers by joining the monthly critical mass. Most of it was really fun, but some motorists have no patience when a few hundred cyclist pass a crossing and they have to wait and start running over people... Idiots are idiots not matter what means of traffic they use...
But now for the fun part: Pictures...
It's Berlin...

We finished up at the Alexander Platz.

I made around 40 km (Tracking was a bit buggy today), the whole group must have been somewhere in the lower four digits....

I just got a couple of laps in on the freshly paved pump track in Firestone & started to stretch when my Dad's theme song (Renegade by Styx) popped up on the boom box. I had a pocket stone with some of his ashes in my pocket sooo, "OK, Dad! Let's have some fun!" Jumped on my Commencal Absolut & ripped around the track through the rest of the song.🤩🫀🫁🥵💪 It felt like my lungs & heart were going to leap from my chest by the end!

Some kids from the adjacent hood showed up to ride the skills section & dirt jumps. Kids always show up when my Dad is around. He was a teacher for 137 years & a local legend. 😂One took a header off the side of one feature & scuffed his chin, finger, bumps & bruises. Checked to make sure he was ok before his friends accompanied him home for his Mom to clean up & get some ice cream.🍦Ice cream makes everything better!

Some other kids came by later to ride. Had to patch up another that took a pedal to the shin with a new detailing cloth & some movers tape(Dr. Cinta!!) to get him home for his Mom to take care of without bleeding all over the neighborhood.

The first youngster came back after his Mom cleaned him up & gave him a popsicle!😉👍 Gotta restock my first aid kit to keep in my truck along with a broom or leaf blower. Each would be handy at the track....

Since the Shelby I normally decorate for holidays needs an overhaul I decided to use J.C. Piggins to enjoy Independence Day with my Dad.(his ashes are encased in a glass "pocket stone)

The Main Event of the day was one of my favorite of the year. A picnic competition in Thompson Park where the symphony plays patriotic music!

Park full of contestants & spectators
IMG_20230704_135255265.jpg

The symphony is accompanied by CANNONS!!:cool2:

Kinda hard to see but this is the part where kids line up to take turns conducting the band.

Back side of the symphony under the tent.

And then, just as a thunderstorm was passing, the 1812 Overture as a finalé. With CANNONS!!💥💥💥Thunder from the passing storm could not have been timed better!

Always a fun event!🤘😝🤘

Then I cranked up the boombox & spent the afternoon cruising around on a beautiful day.🤓

Stopped to reflect on the meaning & importance of Independence Day.

Had to stop for a Captain 'Merica waffle cone to cool off. Delicious!

Are ewe talkin' to ME?!
IMG_20230704_150821866.jpg

Avoided threatening rain all day & had a blast on my favorite holiday!

The theme for Bike Night was "Red, White & YOU" last night so rode J.C. Piggins since it was decked out for Independence Day!
IMG_20230705_183810720.jpg

A big thunderboomer moved through & stopped raining 2 minutes before ride tome so we only had 12 dedicated folks riding. 🤷‍♂️
IMG_20230705_191935586.jpg

It started sprinkling again half way through the ride but was still a great time!🤓

Today I joined a #RideOfSilence for the last tragic victim of Berlin's traffic. A woman was run over by a truck last Monday, already the fifth dead cyclist in Berlin this year...

Took Toadster out for it's first ride with partial speed rail and taped partial motor and grill nose.
