so ive heard of a few guys saying that to bring back the old paint on a bike theyll clean the bike and then give it a few good coats of wax. what kind of wax are you guys using? is it like just regualr ol' car wax and is there any special way to apply such said wax? just curious as i have a decent looking schwinn varsity in campus green that id love to save the OG paint on it but its kinda dirty and dingy.... any help would be very appreciated. thanks fellas!!!

I'm having trouble with old grease stains on my daughter's Huffy, so I might try the rubbing compound.

I've just given my old bikes a good scrubbing with dish detergent and waxed them 2 or 3 times with regular car wax. Here are bikes that had the color come back nicely that way:
