Looks like they used a lead ring (!) to hold the balls in place. The balls themselves look fine; its just the ring that's melted. Either that, or the pic is way blurry.

nope.... the balls and the cup are fine! just the race melted.. It's the fixed side of the BB I was just trying to get it out...

Good idea, weld the balls in place so that you don't lose them.

If you got it hot enough to melt the race you probably softened the balls as well. I'd toss the whole mess. Gary
