Seat post diameter

I have a bunch of seat posts, but they are all too large in diameter for my 63 Schwinn tandem. Even the one off the kids bike.

Does anyone know what diameter the seat posts on the old schwinns are?

13/16" also I believe 20.5 or there abouts in metric.

I've got a 58 Schwinn spitfire and I should be out working on it tomarrow so I'll take a look. Just based on observation since mine was built in the USA (as I suspect yours was) I'm pretty sure we wil find the diameter to be american. BUT as older bikes tend to use a thicker wall tube steel it may be difficult to match up to from later parts. I'll let yo know what I find on mine.

13/16" bike shops prob wont carry it but they can order one or you can or you can buy used.

we carry them for both tapered stock style top and also those with a 7/8 top for attaching modern seats

Mine's a 13/16...I bought a stick of 13/16 DOM tubing from my local supplier...
