came across some scans of bikes i no longer own, here's a schwinn ('48 i think). shimano nexus 4 speed. one of the inside reps sent you a nexus cap if you sent them a photo of a bike running a nexus hub when they first came out with them!

nice ride indeed. i never tried one of those nexus 4speed hubs, how are they? if i put gears on my cruisers, id be dangerous.
The three speed ones are better. I'm thinking the reason they discontinued the 4 speed is two of the gears are almost the same. On a three speed you have a low medium and high......The seven speed is better....lots of choices.

I just scored a Dyno DeLuxe with a Nexus 7 spd coaster hub ....DOUBLE AWESOME.
I also have a SA 7spd coaster, 2 SACHS 3 spd coasters and a noname 3 spd coaster.
My kids can still beat me on their nospeeds :roll:
