Schwinn cast frames?

I was wondering if anyone knows if Schwinn ever used a cast frame? I've got on old bike frame I found in a barn a while back, and am in the process of tearing it down to strip the paint off and it looked like the steering neck is a cast piece.

The frame in question. I'm planning on taking it down to bare metal and going from there. I think it's steel. It weighs like it should be.

Thats the way a schwinn frame is supposed to look like.And answer to your question no it is not cast iron just regular steel tubing. g/l Tony
