School me on Nexus coaster brake hubs..

Looking for ratio charts of the different models.

Also, what kind of shifter does a 4 spd take? I've found one for sale that doesn't have a shifter.

Who builds good, reasonably priced wheels around these hubs.

4 speed Nexus are somewhat obsolete and shifters are hard to come by. Stay away unless you have a complete setup or you don't mind some DIY.

I think I'm going to go with a nexus 3 unless I can run across a nexus 7.

Good choice, just remember a nexus 7 is pretty wide and won't fit into as many frames (without mods) as the 3 will. The 3's will fit into almost any ballooner frame with just a slight (by hand) widening if any is needed at all.
