Here is another Cowtown Mallroom find from Sunday. Was told it is a '36 and I'm guessing that's pretty close. It has a 26" metal clencher rim w/New Departure D hub on back so probably from the early balloon years. The front has been replaced and is a ND black out hub, probably replaced when it was wrecked (front fork bent back a little and signs of welding at the front headtube). Bars, stem, and seat all appear to be replaced too. Rough but has potential I guess?

Are those wheels 24 or 26? If 26, you've got a 28er, so to speak.

How can you tell the tire size if you have no tire on the rim? I also have an old Elgin, but it has the single tube tire wheels.

Another great find,Marty. You seem to be going backwards...getting bored with the 40's-50's? If you want I can take those forks to work and mess 'em up even worse with our press! (was just remembering the Monark springer fiasco,ah memories)...P 8)
