rechargeable headlight idea

I think I found a Headlamp for my 29er. I hear they have them at Home Depot.

I'm wondering, could a rechargeable headlight be made out of this? I would need to do more than just put rechargeable batts and an on/off switch. What would need to happen so the batts don't get over charged? Just thinking.

Or have a setup of a secondary batteries for nighttime riding that would be much brighter?

Most of the solar powered are rechargeable- I was wondering about the electronics- would they need to be switched out for bigger batteries- sounds like im over thinking things.

That looks like one of those 12v lights judging by the cord. I'd say a small lead acid battery and a 14v wall wart to charge it.

saw a solar spot light that is really dim in my backyard yesterday. i was wondering the same exact thing. ill keep watching
