got a good deal on this pre-ratted 80's Murray this evening . I am diggin the XXL bars :mrgreen:

anyone know how to get those crazy grips off?

agreed, but the stem is toast and it will prolly get parted out so I need to get at least ONE off... :roll:

shelters are big business these days.. that would work great I bet!!

my preparations were probably in vain, this Japan mess is way worse than they are telling us.. :shock:
 
If those are the rubber ones with the plastic chrome piece(part closest to the stem) you can just pull that off then stick a flathead screw driver in there and squirt some degreaser and wiggle em' off.its about the only way I have found to get them off without trashing them.Hope it helps,good luck.

Cool stuff.
Speaking of being prepared..The house next store was just sold. I got the tour from the agent selling it. Heck I lived next to it my whole life and never realized there was a cold war era bomb shelter in the basement. Bunks, batteries and civil defense supplies from the '50s and lockers full of crackers and lorna doon cookies from the Eisenhower era. It was like a time capsule.
