An old Mead Ranger. I have one similar already, but with the typical schwinn style frame. I always have a hard time finding info on these Rangers, I usually find stuff from the 20's and 30's but not much after. Anybody have any info for me? And possibly where top find a a tank?

Definitly Columbia built. Look for a serial# on the rear drop-outs or bottom bracket. Here is a link to look up the year:

I would also post pics on http://www.thecabe.com/vbulletin/index.php
They should be able to give you a better idea on what should be on the bike.

I'm not so sure at all that it is Columbia built bike... while the upper rear framestay bar looks much like that of a Columbia, the fork crown, chainring, and particular upper bar curves/ top tubes to me look to be that of a H.P. Snyder made bike. Also, it seems to have the signature H.P. Snyder dropouts...much like those of a Monark form the period... if you could post a picture of those close and in good light I think it would be very conclusive. Here's an H.P. Snyder made Hawthorne I currently own... I'd say you have the same basic bike with slight variations due to year difference.
