Exciting times in 'Bobbytown' as I anticipate this weekend.

I'm a week behind, so I better " Boot SKOOT and boogie"
(that pun's for you @OddJob )

Going to do a resto-mod on this Rollfast 'SKOOT'. I have shown this 'naner before, but wasn't sure if it would fit the sissybar. It does, so I will go ahead and run it. I like that it kinda goes with the filigree on the headbadge.

Haven't decided whether to run a 20/20 or a 20/16, but it should look pretty slick either way.

In case you were wondering about the name and the tie in to my job. I sell vintage and antique Persian and Turkish rugs. The seat has a persian rug vibe, so thus, the 'Persian Excursion'.

Got it torn down the rest of the way.

Good thing that trusty Rollfast dust cover was in place, otherwise it might have gotten dirt filled and petrified 🙄

This frame is ridiculously lightweight. Gotta look up the serial number (edit* 1971), but this frame is definitely running 1/16" tubing. Not gonna take this off any sweet jumps with the stock fork.

It has weap holes everywhere, and with another 6 months standing, I might not have been able to pull the seat post. Sheesh!

Bobby, that mini-Rollfast frame is really sweet! And the saddle is definitely of the Persian persuasion. Which might also be a good build name.... *bobs eyebrows*....:nerd:

I'm following, if even from a distance.

Hello Party People! I'm back in action.
Received my rear slick in the mail. I'm running a DURO 20 x 2.125 whitewall slick for the rear. Still debating on a 20" or 16" for the front.

Because I am retaining the original paint and decals on the frame, I have to find ways to add flourishes to the build, with accessories, to give it some extra pop. I decided that I will draw on the whitewall using a Persian inspired boteh (paisley) design (bandana just for reference). I will be using fine tip sharpies. The ink will stain the rubber for more permenance than paint. It shouldn't bleed too much either, but even with some bleeding will likely add dimension vs distraction to the overall design. It's basically like drawing on the toe caps of your Converse Allstars if ever you did that?

I like that you're running with the theme. Drawing paisley patterns on tires isn't something most people would think to do but it sounds like a great idea for a bike called 'Persian Excursion'!

Sharpie has tons of colors to choose from too. Keep an eye out for those weekly sales at Hobby Lobby!

I had grand plans to do a zoetrope graphic on the hubcaps of my last build. Plans and aesthetic shifted on that build, so I didn't end up doing it.

Well, this build will be the one. Going to try and incorporate a zoetrope into the design of my whitewall graphics. Wish me luck!

Ok, the main outline of side one is complete. I will be adding some more color to the mix, but the zoetrope animation is finished.

Starting side two... though it looks fairly simple, this is a combination of stencil (for size/spacing uniformity) and freehand (paisley tails) so it is a bit time consuming.

I am excited to get it on a wheel and spin it, but for now, I'm just trusting the process.

Skills! Love it!

Alright. Both sides have a matching completion, so I am going to hold off adding any more flourishes until I've had a chance to mount it and spin it.

I almost pulled off the spacing uniformly on both sides, but goofed on 1 spot. However, in keeping with the theme (though unintentionally), Persian rug weavers will often weave an intentional flaw in the design, because, "Only God makes things perfect".

In order to appease my perfectionism, I used the gap to throw in a signature.
