For your consideration:
Something Ive found through the years is that if I have something that is pretty original, yet worn, that the more I fix up different areas the less good the rest looks. Ultimately Ive had to renew/restore to a level I had not intended only because I didnt keep the same 'patination' consistent throughout. A couple of decent rats lost their well earned looks, and did look great when done, just not really 'original' anymore (Ive come to appreciate original the older I get).
 
I hear Ya I dont want to paint it, So why reletter it. Keeps It original. thanx man!~
