on the drop out. really 52?? thats pretty cool. i checked a data base for serials and december 1948 came up. been try ing to get a straight bar frame and every time i would bid , i'd get out bid or I would sit and cry for not bidding more.
Before and part of 1952, the serial number would be on the bottom bracket, during 1952, it went on the dropout. Your number is a 1952, made between Sept 13-15. That frame looks in good shape.
I also have your bike as being made between Sep. 13-15 1952. The placement of Schwinn serial numbers are not always where they should be by the Schwinn date codes.
My wife was born in 1953 so we have two 1953 Schwinn ladies bikes.
The first bike has the serial number (J59418) April 9-15 1953 on the rear drop out.
The second bike has serial number (B04995) Sep. 22-24 1953 stamped on the frame under the bottom bracket and has a skip link chain ring.

I think your second bike is Jan 10-14 1952. I'm pretty sure Schwinn switched in 1952 to the rear dropout with no exceptions.
hey thanks for the ID dudes. its a trip this schwinn world is. now i can sleep at night. haaa. well now im on a roll parts and parts. found forks for 20 bucks today. yeah.

My serial number is B04995 and shows up on both of these years.
B00435 - E05720 (Jan 10 to Jan 14 1952)
B00001 - B09436 (Sep 22 to Sep 24 1953)
Does your frame have a welded on kickstand tube? Can't exactly tell from the pic but it doesn't look like it does. If not, I believe that's a Hornet frame. For several years, Schwinn made Hornets without the welded on kickstand tube. If your frame doesn't have one it's likely one of those Hornets. (unless someone chiseled off the tube) Gary
