You'll have to take that awesome bicycle out to the Packard Proving Grounds when finished.

(a write up I did on a local forum a couple years ago)........

......You see the darnedest things on a bicycle.
I was riding my bike today, and saw this old building.
On the return trip I could see a Historical marker, so I thought I'd check it out.
It turns out the building, and surrounding area was the Packard Proving Grounds.
The Proving Grounds are only a few miles from my house, and I never even knew it existed.

First time post for me here - so be easy. I bumped into this site and saw the thread about Packard bicycles and the Packard Proving Grounds, so I thought I'd chime in. Also good to see a lot of Michigan folks on this site.

I own a 1941 Packard bike made by the Cleveland Welding Co. See the photo attached (if I can figure that part out). Among several color combinations CWC spec'ed a maroon & tan paint scheme with orange pinstripping. So I used the Laguna Maroon Pearlescent paint I had left from restoring my 1941 Packard convertible - and YES Packard had pearlescent paints on their cars going back to the early 1930s.

I am also involved in the restoration of the Packard Proving Grounds. We have an annual car show (300+ cars) and this year we've added a special class for bicycles. If the mods don't mind, then I have posted some info for your review.

Dang!! Hmmm.... says there "...a problem occurred" Need some help here.

OK, so I just read the INTRO page, but sorry I am not into Photobucket, FB or becoming a pro member. So I will try this.

Show is Sunday, June 12 and the space for the bicycles is inside one of our historic buildings. Hope to see you there.
Beautiful bike. Here's how to post pics.> http://www.ratrodbikes.com/forum/index.php?threads/how-to-post-photos.80241/

Deorman: Appreciate the advice, but I still get the problem notice. Double checked file size and it is 800 X 600 at 315 KB - so size is not the problem.

I get Step 1, the prompt window opens, I select the image and when I hit "Open" the Problem Notice appears. I don't even get to the 2nd or even 3rd step. And I don't want to try too many times or I will be kicked off as a hack attacker.
