A friend and I had been talking about getting into fat tire velocipedes for some time now. Picked up a '70 Schwinn Racer a few months back and spotted a '66 Schwinn Fleet 24" in the garage of whom I was purchasing from and its all been downhill since then. The Fleet had a crumpled rear fender so I bobbed it with an angle grinder and with elbow grease, some steel wool, a bit of mothers polish, and a few old tooth brushes I had that vintage two wheeled heroin coursing through my veins. Recently I purchased and restored what I believe to be a '39 Schwinn with an Excelsior America badge and my friend restored a Hiawatha and a '56 Schwinn Wasp. I will have pictures of all the bikes up soon and hopefully all of you good two wheeling folk will enjoy what we have been doing as much as I have enjoyed finding this website and this addiction.
