Hi, and apologies.
i'm looking for an old frame that i can swap a bunch of skip-tooth parts onto. Is it going to be impossible to use an old crankset in a more modern (50/60's) frame? or do you just use the skip-tooth sprocket on the modern crank?
here's a pic of the bike I'm using as a donor:

it's a 24" AMC Flash (I'll have to lengthen the chain abit) but the cogs and rear hub look like new. I love how industrial the heavy chain looks, and think some giant skins on these 24" wheels will look perfect on a 26" frame.
thanks for any advice.
are there any makes to avoid? I had read somewhere that amf and columbia parts won't swap with schwinn?
(the amc was built by schwinn)

A few times, I've used modern sprockets on older dog-leg cranks that originally had a skiptooth sprocket and it works just fine. I don't see any reason a skiptooth sprocket couldn't be used with a newer crank.
