Hi I found some great info on rebuilding on this forum, I thought I'd do an intro. I'm Abe, I'm a designer in Los Angeles,Ca. I love the cruiser bicycles. I just got a new to me bike, it seems to be a MW Hawthorne about 1950-1952 I believe. I just fixed some wangly spokes and regreased the hub and it just about rideable.

My Wife and I started doing the Cyclone Coasters ride in the Long Beach, there's a ride this Sunday BTW.
We also have a 58 Schwinn cruiser and a 52ish Schwinn DX, both pretty much rat bikes, I'll find pics for those soon. This Hawthorne is the first complete bike and tank bike I've ever had. I feel it was a good buy, but not as great as some of the deal I see some of you guys score.

the 58 is based on the serial number, all just extra parts

well the ride starts in Long Beach I believe the person that started this ride is named Bernard, a nice guy, he says he's got too many vintage bikes, I wouldn't be surprised if he's on here.
Here is the site http://cyclonecoaster.com/

ride starts at 10:30 everyone starts getting there about 9:30, there we're about 150 vintage bikes last month.
