new bike project, what is it? CWC? Western Flyer?

howdy all

just got a new frame, haven't taken delivery of it yet so I do not have a serial number,just some low-res pics. Was told it was a pre-war CWC, closest match I can see is this red Western Flyer (about 1/4 way down the page):

The seat post hardware and the square vs rounded rack tabs on the rear drop-outs seem to be identical, although the tubes seem somehow thinner.

Note the nasty-looking welds at the bottom of the seat mast, is this normal for whatever frame this is, or evidence of some past repair?




Please pardon my ignorance, but did CWC make Western Flyer frames at any time? Have just started doing research so am not totally up to speed, especially on Western Flyers.

Any info appreciated!

finally picked up the frame, serial number is:



I don't see any C with a W in it, does this indicate it is not a CWC frame?


There's some ghosting where a head badge was, not any Western Flyer shape that I'm familiar with but then again the bike's been repainted so who knows if it was original to the frame?




So any ideas what I have here?
